Pollution Forced Male Feminization
A quiet transformation has been taking place across America that is neutralizing some traditional gender
features in men. Some men are noticing gynecomastia or that their breasts
are growing larger. Other men notice a reduction in libido, changes in sexual arousal and sexual performance. Often men try to ignore or hide these
changes because they feel insecure and uncomfortable talking about sexual issues with their doctors or significant
others.
Other changes are hidden much deeper. The percentage of men seeking out female clothing and experiencing
cross-gendering fantasies is rising steadily witnessed by the growing population of online stores selling
female-styled clothing designed specifically for men.
What is triggering these changes? The answer is more complex than it might seem on the surface. Some members of
this population are simply becoming more visible. The rise of the Internet has created opportunities for closeted
men to connect with other closeted men that share their issues. But, this only accounts for a portion of this
population.
A second component is the cultural change driven by the gay movement once homosexuality was removed from the
diagnostic manuals as a mental illness. This movement forced the mainstream culture to recognize and accept gender
differences.

More than anything else the gay advocacy movement started a dialogue about gender issues that allowed people to
begin to talk about formerly taboo gender topics. After decades of gender discussion the description of an American
man now actively includes men who are gay and men with feminine characteristics.
The dialogue about gender has spread into video games, television programming, movies and books so that
punishing, criticizing, ridiculing and bullying people who look or behave outside of conventional expectations is
now viewed as reprehensible. With more men losing their fear to express themselves openly, it is natural that more
varieties of diversity will show up.
These cultural changes are viewed as positives by most psychologists using the argument that when people are
honest, authentic and open, they will have better relationships. But, this only accounts for some of the men
experiencing these changes.
More troubling causes need to be examined. One of the primary causes of forced feminization in fish is pollution
in water. High levels of estrogen, the female hormone, and estrogen mimickers have been demonstrated to radically
transform male fish into female fish. Estrogen enters the drinking water supply when women using birth control use
the bathroom, when birth control pills are flushed in the drain, when make-up products containing estrogen are
flushed or placed in landfills to leech into the water supply.
Estrogen mimickers are nonylphenols. These are found in paint products, cosmetics, plastics, and rubber. It is
estimated that as many as 80% of American rivers contain these hormones. Areas with larger populations of younger
women may have higher levels of hormone in the water system. Frequently water departments do not screen or treat
the water for estrogen or estrogen mimickers.
Hormones are increasingly a product of food production as well. Contaminated water is used in meat and plant
food production. Hormones are given to cattle to accelerate growth so that a cow can be used as food earlier. These
hormones are ingested by the cow and become part of the meat. People eating the meat are also receiving the
hormones as part of the product. These sources of estrogen and estrogen mimickers pose serious issues for men.
It is well known that hormones affect not only the physical body, they also effect the emotional and mental
state. When hormonal imbalances are present in the body the unusual emotional and mental messages are added to a
changing physical state. Some men will have great difficulty coming to terms with these effects.
If you or the men in your life are transforming before your eyes, ask serious questions of your doctor and have
yourself and your food and water tested for estrogen. Because this pollution is so prevalent it may be impossible
to eradicate the problem entirely. However, you may be able to correct for the problem, particularly if you live in
an area with higher rates of estrogen.
You may need to alter your diet away from hormone enhanced meat to avoid boosting your intake. It’s important to
remember that imbalanced hormones have profound effects on your overall health and wellbeing, and something as
simple as polluted water may be underlying a host of other symptoms affecting your health.
